Geboren en getogen in Oregon, heb ik vanaf ongeveer 2009 gestudeerd bij zadelmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ojmche.org\/oral-history-people\/hans-ludwig-biglajzer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hans Biglajzer<\/a>, met een focus op het maken en repareren van zadels. Ik heb een tijdlang een kleine reparatiewerkplaats en winkel voor zadelmakers in Oregon gehad, maar na een verhuizing naar Nederland in 2012 heb ik mijn leerwerk grotendeels opgegeven vanwege tijd- en ruimtegebrek.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Nu mijn kinderen (zo goed als) volwassen zijn en het ik het geluk heb een kleine ruimte in onze garage om te bouwen tot een werkplaats, ben ik begin 2023 met beide benen weer in de wereld van leerbewerking gesprongen. Gaandeweg heb ik mijn echte passie in het ontwerpen en uitvoeren van leerbewerking ontdekt. Ik gebruik de traditionele vaardigheden die ik, meer dan tien jaar geleden, heb geleerd tijdens mijn opleiding tot zadelmaker, om stukken van hoogwaardige kwaliteit te maken. Of het nu gaat om een fijn leren halster of een (honden)halsband, elk item is volledig met de hand gemaakt \u2013 vanaf de eerste snede van het leer tot het met de hand sticken van elk bandje.<\/p>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nIn mijn vrije tijd werk ik samen met mijn vriendin Silke Wiersma in ons gezamenlijke paardenopleidings- en verkoopbedrijf <a href=\"https:\/\/outlanderequestrian.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Outlander Equestrian<\/a>. Ik woon in Haarlem met mijn man en twee tieners, en ik geniet ervan om in mijn vrije tijd met onze fantastische Pura Raza Espa\u00f1ola-merries de paden op te gaan.\r\n\r\nIn het najaar van 2024 ben ik begonnen aan een 18 maanden durende cursus via de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mastersaddlers.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Society of Master Saddlers<\/a> om mijn <span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">City &amp; Guilds Assured Certificate in Bridle Fitting including Measuring and Bitting (Qualified by the Society of Master Saddlers) <\/span>te behalen. De kennis en ervaring die ik door deze cursus opdoe, zal ik kunnen gebruiken om verbeterde ontwerpen voor op maat gemaakte hoofdstellen te maken, evenals om nauwkeurigere meet- en pasdiensten aan te
