Dog Collars
To ensure a perfect fit for your dog’s new collar, there are two methods of measurement which you can use:
Measure around your dog’s neck
Using a flexible tape measure or a piece of string, measure loosely around your dog’s neck where the collar would normally sit at the tightness that you prefer. Where the two pieces overlap is the correct measurement.
If you are using a piece of string, mark where the two pieces come together, lay the string flat and measure from the end of the string to the mark.
Measure your dog’s current collar
Remove your dog’s current fitting collar, and re-buckle it to the size that your dog normally wears. Using a flexible tape measure or a piece of string, measure the inside of the collar. Lay the tape or string tight against the inside all the way around, including the buckle.
If you are using a piece of string, mark where the two ends come together, lay the string flat and measure from the end of the string to the mark.
If you are ordering a custom made dog collar, your measurement will be the center adjustment hole. You will have two holes tighter than the measurement and two holes looser to ensure that your collar will fit.
If you are purchasing a ready-to-wear collar, your measurement must be between the sizes listed, otherwise it will not fit.

GOOD TO KNOW
Does your dog’s measurement fall on the cusp of two sizes? You can then choose either the bigger or smaller size, based on your preference. Do you have a puppy who is still growing? Choose the larger size. Do you prefer to have a collar with just enough leftover strap length to tuck into the keeper? Choose the smaller size.
Horse Halters
Horse halters are made in standard sizes at the moment (e.g. Cob, Full). If you have a specific request (noseband slightly larger than standard sizes, chin strap smaller, etc.), please contact me.
